The Land Transport Authority (LTA) was established to regulate the registration and use of vehicles, the licensing or drivers and the enforcement of traffic laws and to provide for the repeal of traffic act and related matters. The LTA is a commercially oriented entity with strict accountability guidelines. LTA’s mission is to develop and implement practicable and sustainable passenger and goods transport services by road. As part of the LTA’s strategic repositioning, we are seeking applications from exceptional and motivated leaders to assist the CEO in leading the LTA in the new direction.

MANAGER AUDIT

Primary Role

To manage the Auditing of Land Transport Authority management systems and processes.

Key Outcomes

Specifically this will involve:-

  • Developing and documenting internal auditing standards procedures and checklists for use in the audit function
  • Developing and implementing and Audit program to ensure that the authority’s systems and controls are functioning satisfactorily
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, service delivery and in the utilization of resources and recommend improved documentation of policies and procedures where they are considered to be inadequate
  • Reporting monthly to the Chief Executive on audit outcomes;
  • Responding to concerns over abnormalities in processes or management systems raised by the Chief Executive/other Managers/Customers.

Qualification

  • A tertiary qualification appropriate to the position’s role and responsibilities plus at least three (3) years relevant experience in the functional field involved so as to be demonstrably suitable for the position,

OR

  • In the case of a non-graduate at least 2-3 years experience as a senior administrative officer or 5-6 years as an administrative officer or equivalent so as to be demonstrably suitable for the position UNLESS he/she has completed specialized training leading to appropriate higher level qualification(s) during his/her career so as to be demonstrably suitable for the position.
  • Auditing background essential.
  • The ability to develop practices and procedures;
  • Demonstrate ability in the audit of business processes and management system;
  • A good knowledge of Quality Management principles;
  • Analytical, research and problem solving skills;
  • High level, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills;
  • Well developed management and organization skills.

REMUNERATION

The Land Transport Authority (LTA) was set up under the Land Transport Act of 1998, with the responsibility of regulating and controlling all or any means of Land Transport.

The main functions of LTA are:-

  • To devise, initiate and carry out measurers for the coordination, improvement and economic operation of passenger transport and goods transport by road;
  • To ensure as far as is practicable the provision of road transport passenger services, adequate to meet the requirements of the public, and
  • To register vehicles, license drivers and establish standards consistent with the objectives or road safety.

The Land Transport Authority is seeking to recruit dynamic, resourceful persons for the position of:-

CUSTOMER SERVICE OFFICER – 3 posts
[1-Valelevu/2-Suva]

PRIMARY ROLE

Provide and ensure that issuing of Learner’s Permit, International Driver Permit, Driving License and Motor Vehicle Registration, Renewal of Driver License and Motor Vehicle Registration and collection of revenue is done in accordance with the Land Transport Act and Regulations 2000.

QUALIFICATION

  • Diploma in Business Studies or Management from recognized institution.

Or

  • Pass in FSLC with at least two (2) years of relevant experience.  Should be computer literate with excellent written and communication skills.  Knowledge of Land Transport Act and Regulations is necessary.  Must be customer oriented and be able to live the values of LTA.

SALARY     

LTA Grade 11 - $8,990-$14,388
