Interpretation of Our Vision
The vision steering fiji safety was reached after exhaustive discussions at all levels of Board Management and staff and stakeholders. The vision encapsulates what we believe to be the core of what the LTA stands for. It is an organisation set up to improve Land Transportation ensuring Road Safety is enhanced above all else. The escalating death toll must be taken on board as a benchmark to work from.

The word steering epitomises the niche activity of the authority as the principal licensing authority on all forms of Land Transportation, irrespective of whether it is driven on private or public road and the key role it occupies in ensuring adequate, effective, efficient and safe land transportation throughout Fiji.

SPEED AND ROAD SAFETY:
Speeding continues to be major factor in road crashes, so slow down and save lives!

BE AWARE OF THE FACTS ABOUT SPEEDING!

CHOOSE A SAFE SPEED FOR THE CONDITIONS:
Speed limits are the maximum travel speed for any road. In many conditions, you should travel at a lower speed-such as in bad weather, after dark, in heavy traffic, on unfamiliar, winding or narrow roads.

REMEMBER TO CHOOSE A SAFE SPEED FOR THE DRIVING CONDITIONS

SPEEDING INCREASE CRASHES:
You are more likely to crash if you exceed the speed limit or drive at a speed that is not appropriate for the conditions.

As your speed increases, you have a less time to react to emergencies and it takes a greater distance to stop. Other road users also find it more difficult to judge how fast you are traveling.
